Raquel Kaplan Goldberg

Raquel is an experienced estates solicitor, with a practice that focuses on preparing wills, powers of attorney, and trusts, and advising executors in the administration of estates. She regularly drafts primary and secondary wills, Henson trusts, insurance trusts, residence trusts, spousal trusts, alter ego trusts, bare trusts, and other inter vivos trusts, and works with U.S. counsel on matters involving cross-border considerations. Working with executors, Raquel helps her clients manage all aspects of estate administration, including shepherding them through the probate process, liaising with financial institutions, coordinating with accountants and tax advisors, and communicating with beneficiaries from initial contact through distribution.

Raquel obtained her J.D. from the University of Toronto, where she was awarded the Warren Lefton Prize in Estate Planning. She began her legal career in Wills and Estates at a full-service law firm on Bay Street, before practicing for almost a decade at a mid-size Toronto firm. She has experience with both large and small estates, and appreciates the unique challenges that arise in each.
